BOMA/GLA Engages with State Leaders at CBPA Board Meeting & Legislative Luncheon

Phil Tate

Our BOMA/GLA Government Affairs Director attended the California Business Properties Association (CBPA) Board Meeting and All-Star Awards Legislative Luncheon in Sacramento this week, joining industry leaders and policymakers for discussions on commercial real estate legislation at the state level and locally.

Recognizing Legislative Champions and Strengthening Industry Connections

Our PAC Chair, Phil Tate, had the honor of presenting Assemblymember Buffy Wicks with a Legislative All-Star Award. We were also proud to help recognize Senator Susan Rubio from Los Angeles’s San Gabriel Valley for her contributions to the industry.

It was great to see elected officials from across Los Angeles County, including freshman Assemblymember Mark Gonzalez and others, participate in this important gathering that fostered dialogue between policymakers and the commercial real estate sector. While we might not always agree on all issues, an open-door policy is a critical baseline for working relationships.

Additionally, we were pleased to support the inclusion of our partners at Building Skills Partnership, whose advocacy work promotes equity for their members, including those in janitorial and other essential service industries that work closely and oftentimes directly with our members.
