BOMA/GLA’s Sustainability Committee Tours SoCalGas’ Hydrogen-Powered Microgrid and Home
BOMA/GLA's Sustainability Committee had the unique opportunity to tour SoCalGas’s [H2] Innovation Experience, a state-of-the-art facility that highlights the future of clean energy.
The tour showcased a hydrogen-powered microgrid designed to enhance energy resilience for buildings.
Attendees learned firsthand how clean hydrogen, produced using renewable energy, can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring a reliable energy supply during power outages.
In addition to the microgrid, members were introduced to the Angeles Link project, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at creating one of the largest clean hydrogen pipelines in the nation.
This ambitious project could significantly benefit the commercial real estate industry by providing access to clean energy for large-scale buildings, promoting sustainability and operational efficiency.
Our members were particularly impressed by the future scalability of these technologies, which could power everything from residential communities to large commercial properties.
The tour reinforced the role that hydrogen can eventually play in achieving long-term sustainability goals while maintaining reliable energy systems.
