homeless encampments

Hollywood 2.0 (H20) is changing how Hollywood approaches mental health care. It offers community-based services for people facing mental illness and homelessness.

What You Need to Know

The program has made big progress in its second year, thanks to Hollywood 4WRD. It is moving from planning to putting ideas into action. Read the full report here

  • New housing options are available. The Mark Twain Hotel, Walk of Fame Hotel, and Anew Dawn adult living center are all providing temporary housing and/or services for people.
  • “Highly Enriched Residential Care” services were created to provide 24/7 support.
  • The Hollywood Mental Health Cooperative (HMHC) made 54 new jobs. This improved how quickly they could respond and help people get treatment. By June 2024, H20 served 1,259 clients.
  • H4WRD connects to the community with events aimed at teaching the community what H20 provides.
  • RAND Corp. will evaluate this program and report it’s feedback so the program can improve.
  • The Hollywood Mental Health Clinic plans to move to a bigger location to provide more service to the community.

How It Impacts You

The rise of Hollywood 2.0 has important effects on commercial real estate professionals.

By focusing on mental health and homelessness, H20 is helping to create a more stable and attractive neighborhood. This may lead to higher property values and more commercial interest in the area.

Increased foot traffic could come as more people get care. This may help local businesses and commercial properties. The area could then see more economic activity.

H20 focuses on housing and support services. This could inspire more commercial development and redevelopment in the community. This may help spark broader community revitalization.

There may be possibilities to work with H20 on housing or mixed-use projects that have mental health services.
